Rena Trujillo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Long Beach, CA. Rena works with young adults and adults, including parents. Her specialty is helping athletes and professionals improve their performance through decreasing their stress levels and improving their communication skills. Many of Rena’s clients experience an intense amount of pressure and struggle to advocate for themselves. They might feel like imposters, like they don’t belong at the level they’re at. This can lead to feelings of fear, frustration, or anxiety. They begin therapy because they seek healing from the emotional challenges that come with performing at a high level.

Therapy with Rena helps clients avoid the difficult feelings that accompany pressure for excellence. She takes a process-based approach when helping clients, which leads them through reflecting on and making changes in each part of their lives. Her goal is to help clients find their true selves so they can live authentically instead of by everyone else’s expectations. Her sessions include conversations about motivation and motivation to change, self-compassion, feminism, and attachment types. She teaches clients skills in mindfulness, which can improve their self-awareness, and also helps them clarify their goals. By providing positive and supportive guidance, Rena encourages clients every step of the way through their therapy journey.

Rena earned a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California. She has over 10 years of experience in the mental health field and runs a therapy practice called EmPower Mental Fitness, where she’s dedicated to helping individuals improve their lives

What our patients are saying…

I suffered from axiety and it was to the point where I couldn’t finish the match. I was beaten mentally before ever stepping on the field. Now I recognize competition and know that I have prepared for that moment. Rena was able to teach me how to do that, Im forever grateful.
